What Not to Put in Your Mouth!

 Hello Kiddies!

Sooooooooooooooo, yesterday I posted I picture of me with a tomato frog in my mouth that generated way more controversy than I ever could have imagined because after all it was just a little froggy!  Anyways, long story short, the picture was taken down because we here at the Reptile Zoo do not want to encourage you kiddies out there (or adults) to put things in your mouth that don't belong in your mouth!  I would think that that everyone out there was smart enough to figure that out on their own, but hey, I did it, so what's to stop you from following suit?

The tomato frog that was the victim of this tragedy is still alive and well, hopping through his day unaffected by the event, lest you all be ever concerned with whether or not something happened to him.  I would like to add that I am also fine, the frog did not kill me, did not make me high, I did not hallucinate, and I did not get a severe and life threatening headache from the event.  I simply thought that the frog felt amazingly soft  kinda like a cross between a gummy shark and a Listerine breath strip and I am a big fan of gummy sharks and wanted to see what the tomato frog would feel like on my tongue.

Now, all of that being said, I would like to post some pictures of things are ok to put in your mouth and some things that are not ok to put in your mouth as a guideline for all of you out there that might need it.

All apologies necessary…

Much love

Maintaining the new toys!

Hey Guys!

Craig is our resident rattlesnake handler and he does such a good job!  I wanted to show you guys what goes on behind the scenes here at the Reptile Zoo, so here are some pics of Craig and Lucifer our Albino Western Diamond Back Rattlesnake!  Yikes!  Lucifer is probably the most beautiful rattlesnake I have ever seen, sometimes he looks yellow and sometimes he looks pink, but don't let those feminine colors fool you!  Lucifer is is one aggressive rattlesnake, and he backs away from nothing!  His rattle is big and so is he, but Craig has been handling his kind for years now and thank goodness!!!!!  Hope you enjoy the pics, this is just another example of how we are building the best and one and only Reptile Zoo!

and Craig made it out without a scratch!

much love,

Newport Harbor Cheerleaders!

Hey Guys!

Everybody loves cheer leaders, but do cheeleaders love snakes?  Today the answer is yes!  We had a visit today from Amy, Alison & Chase from Newport Harbor Cheer and they cheered our albino burmese "Banana" on to great things!  Chase wasnt really a cheerleader, he plays lacrosse, but since he looked the part, we made him cheerleader for the day!  Hope you enjoy the pics!  It's super crazy busy in here today... gotta run!

Much love

Parallel Thinking (between me & my monitor)

Here’s what I think in the morning when I get to work versus what Bumble Bee (our very precious sulphur monitor) thinks in the morning when I get to work, an inner dialogue so to speak….

Me—Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay, I get to see, my sulphur monitor this morning!  I missed him sooooooooooooo.

Him—OMG!  Not the loud thing, please not the loud thing.

Me—Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeey Bumblebee, who’s a good boy???

Him—It’s the loud thing, maybe she brought a food.

Me—Come give me a big hug!

Him—Hmmmmmm, I don’t smell a food, better investigate!

Me—Awwwwww, he loves me!

Him—Well, I’m close enough now, and I still don’t smell food, curses, foiled again!

Me—Come here baby!  Let’s go play!

Him—Geeeeeez, I knew I got too close, now she’s picking me up like she does every day, and she squeezes me, and I have to wriggle around and try to climb up her head until she puts me down, and then she will give me a food.

Me—Are you hungry good boy?

Him—Of course.
