Jurrrrrrrrassic Fact of the Week!

JFW!   This week we are featuring one of our awesome educational events.

There has been a lot of interest lately in the Split Assembly Package.  What we can do for you is bring not just 12-15 animals, but 15-18!  We offer TWO one-hour presentations, EACH with their own 20-minute hands-on period at the end, after the hour presentation.  One handler will teach students about each animal, allow for some questions, and really get the kids interested in reptiles and learning more about them.  At the end, the kids can even touch or hold a few of the awesome creatures that were shown!

This is a great offer if you have a large group of students and want everyone to have an up-close and personal experience with no hassle.  Frequently, we have teachers tell us that they devote a whole week, two weeks, sometimes a MONTH to reptile studies within their classrooms and these educational events are truly the perfect icing on the cake!

So go to www.jurassicparties.com, (or just click the tab at the top of this page), and check out how we can make learning fun!!

Hope to see you soon!

Ciao......Thalia

Educating Old Fashioned Fun with Jurassic Parties

Hey All Prehistoric and Jurassic fans Andrew here.

Today I hosted my first Educational Party for the Boys and Girls Club at Lawrence Elementary School. For our classroom parties I like to provide a fine balance between education, hands-on interaction, and pure old fashioned fun, creating an experience that educators and students alike will not forget. We had a great time learning about all the animals and every student seemed to have a lot of great questions and comments.

At the end of the presentation all the kids lined up for a group picture with one of our 12 foot Burmese pythons and got to handle a few of our animals for pictures and some up close and personal interaction. One student in particular, Marco, was especially fascinated with tarantulas and was the very first volunteer to hold our Chilean Rose Haired tarantula named Fuzzy. He stood up in front of his class, and let Fuzzy crawl all over his head. Way to go Marco for being so brave!!

Overall the kids had a great time and all agreed to come visit us at The Reptile Zoo!!!

Jurassic Fact of the Week!

JFW time!

So besides being an AWESOME place to have your birthday party...Prehistoric Pets is also an awesome place to LEARN!  We do many educational events both here at the zoo, and off-site.  There are many to choose from...so if you are interested, check out the Jurassic Parties tab on this page.

If you are a teacher, we recommend our Classroom package which includes a one-hour, hands-on presentation with 12-15 animals.  We come to your classroom of 30 or less and spread the reptile knowledge!  (and if you are a student...tell your teacher!)   :-D   Also, we can give presentations here at the zoo, for a Field Trip of around 30 guests.

If it is a large group of students...we can do assemblies. They include the same presentation, a few more animals, and a special 20-minute hands-on period at the end.  We EVEN do special events, such as science fairs, where we can set up a booth for everyone to come see, feel, and learn!

So if its knowledge you seek, please don't delay......call The Reptile Zoo and we will save the day!!!
