TON of Fun on Good Day LA for NARBC

Here comes trouble! Anyone recognize the face in this picture?

It's Ton Jones star of SPIKE's Auction Hunters and a longtime friend of Prehistoric Pets! This weekend he is joining us in promoting our local North American Reptile Breeders Conference at the Anaheim Convention Center. We started the week with a great segment on Good Day LA and couldn't help but share some photos from behind the scenes.

A natural in front of the cameras Ton patiently showed the sometimes anxious hosts a variety of animals provided by The Reptile Zoo including our newest addition an Australian Black Head Python, Thelma & Louise the Two-Headed Snake and of course some great reptile pets like Bearded Dragons and Crested Geckos.

After the show Prehistoric Pets sales manager Garrett Hartle and Ton couldn't help but take the photo opp with Gomer one of our smaller American Alligators before heading back to The Reptile Zoo to finish packing and prepping for our booth at this weekend's event.

We are excited to see who shows up to visit the Prehistoric Pets booth at NARBC this weekend (we've heard its a reptile loving celebrity hotspot!) To find out more information about how you can attend the show be sure to visit http://www.narbc.com/Anaheim/anaheim.html

THIS WEEKEND: Jay Brewer at SOS² Reptile Expo

Last week we let you know founder Jay Brewer was travelling with some of his team to South Africa where he would be enjoying the sites and native wildlife, but for those in South Africa we left the best part out. This weekend you can come meet him and check out some of our unique pythons at the 2012 SOS² Reptile Expo!

This is Jay's first time visiting the expo, which is in it's 10th year as the leading South African Reptile Expo. This year it will be held at the Emperor's Palace in Kempton Park centrally located near Johannesburg International airport. Visit SOS² this Saturday and Sunday, the 5th and 6th of May between 9 AM - 4 PM for your chance to view and even take home some of the best reptiles the South African reptile community has to offer!

Jay has been excited for this trip, and especially this expo for months! South Africa is one of his favorite places to visit and he is looking forward to finally meeting the whole reptile community and sharing Prehistoric Pets one of a kind boas, burmese and reticulated pythons that have been previously unavailable in South Africa!

We have been luck enough to partner with organizer Arno Naude to set-up a permanent distributor relationship within the country, just like our friends The Reptile Room in Europe. We have sent Arno a great selection of animals, which if not all snatched up at this weekend's expo, will continue to be available within the country.

If you live in the area make sure to stop by this weekend's event it is sure to be filled with the best animals South Africa has to offer and plenty of great people to meet. If you happen to see Jay while you're there be sure to stop him and say hello he always loves a good chat about animals, especially the new reticulated python projects we are working on right now!

Don't forget that's Saturday and Sunday 9AM-4PM SOS² Reptile Expo at Emperor's Palace in Kempton Park! See you there!

FLOWER!

Hey guys!

I would like, if I may to introduce you all to Flower! Flower is a Tiger Retic, he is sooooo pretty and so sweet. I don't normally handle retics, unless it is for a picture, but this photo session turned into a new friendship. I feel really lucky when that happens. So it came to pass that in all the moving things around here to make room for new things to display, I came across this snake and I'm not sure why I think he's so pretty, but I do. Mostly because he looks a lil different and the rainbow that I always see reflecting from him appears as a bright turquoise dot under each of his eyes. I took the snake outside so I could have some awesome light that would reflect his goodness, but when I tried my best to pose him, he found himself a big white Flower! I'm not sure if he thought it was food at first or not, but I do know that he wrapped that Flower and was not letting go of it for anything! When it finally came time to bring him back inside, the flower came with us.... and he sat wrapped around it, guarding it for about an hour until I pulled him off of it! So, he's a retic, he's a Flower, he's a flower picker, and he's my new BFF! Here are a few pics from our adventure!

Much love!
