October Celebrations with Prehistoric Adventures

Fall is here and so are some of the best Pumpkin Patches around, packed to the brim with fun activities for all! A place for families, friends, or even a date night, this atmosphere is the bee's knees.

For the first time ever we are bringing our mobile Reptile Zoo to the pumpkin patch to add to the spooky fun. You can find us and all of our reptile friends in both Fountain Valley and La Habra at Santa's Garden pumpkin patch.

These pumpkin patches advertises huge, inflatable slides, bounce houses, fire engine train rides and more! You can slide down the Tiger's Mouth or swoosh down the Ship under an Octopus Attack.

But this year's fashion is to have a live, 10 foot snake wrapped around your body, offering a big smile with you in a forever-memorable picture!

As you can see, we have a pen set up for our African spurred tortoises, which you can feed for just three tickets! You can also see we have a full sized iguana, two monitor lizards, and a pancake tortoise.

We also have a rock python, yellow footed tortoises, reticulated pythons and a two hundred and fifty pound reticulated python.

We have lots of other animals set up with an adorable pumpkin theme.

Come see reptiles from around the globe, hold pythons, skinks, and even a scorpion (if you're feeling adventurous).  So come stop by our scenic and fantastic pumpkin patch and start your October with smiles, laughs, and memories.

TON of Fun on Good Day LA for NARBC

Here comes trouble! Anyone recognize the face in this picture?

It's Ton Jones star of SPIKE's Auction Hunters and a longtime friend of Prehistoric Pets! This weekend he is joining us in promoting our local North American Reptile Breeders Conference at the Anaheim Convention Center. We started the week with a great segment on Good Day LA and couldn't help but share some photos from behind the scenes.

A natural in front of the cameras Ton patiently showed the sometimes anxious hosts a variety of animals provided by The Reptile Zoo including our newest addition an Australian Black Head Python, Thelma & Louise the Two-Headed Snake and of course some great reptile pets like Bearded Dragons and Crested Geckos.

After the show Prehistoric Pets sales manager Garrett Hartle and Ton couldn't help but take the photo opp with Gomer one of our smaller American Alligators before heading back to The Reptile Zoo to finish packing and prepping for our booth at this weekend's event.

We are excited to see who shows up to visit the Prehistoric Pets booth at NARBC this weekend (we've heard its a reptile loving celebrity hotspot!) To find out more information about how you can attend the show be sure to visit http://www.narbc.com/Anaheim/anaheim.html

Lets See How They Grow! Gator Edition

Since the opening of The Reptile Zoo we have been lucky enough to add 4 American Alligators of various sizes to our collection. The first gators to become part of The Reptile Zoo family were Gomer and Pyle who were each two years old and about 2 feet long.

Next we welcomed Darthgator a five year old 4 foot male gator. Since coming to The Reptile Zoo Gomer and Pyle have grown to almost the same size as Darthgator when he first arrived. Growth in American Alligators is an indicator that the animals are in the correct habitat and maintaining a healthy diet. Here at The Reptile Zoo our gator friends like to each chicken and lots of it.

Gomer and Pyle prefer chicken legs while Darthgator has moved on to full chicken breasts. Which is represented in Darthgator's growth to reach at least 6 feet in length with an impressive girth.

A couple months ago our final gator addition came in the smallest package, Davey a petit yearling American Alligator. Davey is still eating goldfish, but is just about large enough to move up to a larger prey soon!

Now that you have seen the before and after photos you'll have to come to The Reptile Zoo and visit these growing giants!
